Frequently Asked Questions About PICISI [this post is updated regularly]

PICISI is an idea, a name, a plan, a vision, a project, a community, a company, a currency, and a crowdfunding site.

How was PICISI created?
In January of 2015 the Einsteinium foundation (EMC2), a cryptocurrency (CC) organization, conducted a crowdfunding campaign to benefit a scientist: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/science-study-memory-loss-dueto-sleep-deprivation, during that campaign organizers tried unsuccessfully to have Indiegogo enable CC to be used as a donation vehicle for the campaign

EMC2 organizers found themselves having to create their own system to enable people who wanted to donate CC to be able to do so.  In addition to donating CC, developers, foundations, and communities were also encouraged to sponsor the campaign in different ways.  From that experience the idea of PICISI (pronounced ‘pick-eh-sea’) was conceived.  The creation itself came weeks after that experience, the first plan was more complex and involved multiple cryptocurrency communities working together, when that didn't seem to get traction the plan was scaled down to a more popular version of the original plan.

What does PICISI mean?
When looking for a name the creator of PICISI wanted specific characteristics, he wanted a name that was less than 8 characters, he wanted a word that would cause the speaker to smile when said correctly, and he wanted a word that was quirky, had a rhythmic pattern, and meaning.

These characteristics would enable readers and hearers of the word to more easily identify the word with the plan and the project.

The acronym is formed from words that directly relate to the vision for the site:
Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, and Ideas = PICISI

Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that is often created and issued by a programmer,  supported by a community, and rarely backed by anything.
