Sticks and Stones and Broken Bones: What a Charmed Life I Lead by Linda Lee King (Author)

Sticks and Stones and Broken Bones: What a Charmed Life I Lead Kindle Edition

"Linda Lee King grew up in 1950s America where children did not speak until spoken to and when the Catholic Church concealed many occurrences of inappropriate behavior. One moment in her young life caused trauma that would haunt her into adulthood. Now a victim of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, she struggles daily to stay afloat.

Linda has been divorced, widowed, and haunted by paranormal forces she cannot explain. She sees the world as not black and white but bleeding red with violence. That violence breeds brokenness, but it is never too late for someone to seek help. She especially worries about the future children of America and how violence will affect their lives.

The battle is not hopeless, though. Linda believes with early detection and counseling any past trauma can be treated. She has been through so much in her life as a single parent and a recovering Roman Catholic. Now, she reaches out to others who share her pain to tell a personal story of forgiveness, hope, and—in the end—healing."

At just under three hundred pages, Sticks and Stones and Broken Bones is the baring of a soul.
Linda Lee King tells stories of her life in a manner that unveils truisms that many people will relate
to completely. Snippets of her life are described in details that evoke emotion and empathy. Prose
is, on occasion, poetic, and always heartfelt.

Creating this work was very painful for the author at times, I would think … but, also cathartic.
Poignant, sad, extraordinarily revealing, there are segments difficult to read. Biographical in structure,
this story is particularly enthralling if you were raised in the 50s-60s and went to a Catholic school,
memories abound. Educational. Sticks and Stones and Broken Bones will be comforting to many
readers who have been through similar circumstances.

Linda Lee King's book is definitely a page turner. The traumatic incidents in her life, have had a deep
impact. It speaks to people who have suffered trauma and PTSD. The ripple effect that can occur in
families, friends, and loved ones is long reaching and can be devastating. Her story is inspiring, as
through her experiences she has learned the power of forgiveness. Very good and inspiring book!

This is the true story of the author's life. Sad, but true. Linda Lee King did an excellent job of bringing
her experiences into the hearts of the reader. You don't know whether to laugh or cry sometimes, but
what you do know is you don't want to put it down. I look forward to other works by Ms. King.
